Wilderness Inquiry is committed to finding a way for every child to participate regardless of their background. In order to do so, we have come up with a list of scholarships that are available to youth for following their dreams.
The Ann Bancroft Foundation
The Ann Bancroft Foundation offers grants to individual girls to help them realize their dreams. Girls age 10 through girls in 10th grade are eligible to apply. Visit http://www.annbancroftfoundation.org to apply. Click on “Micro Grants for Girls.”

A Voice For Animals High School Essay Contest
High School students are invited to enter the Humane Education Network's A Voice for Animals essay contest. To be eligible, you must submit an essay, previously unpublished, which examines either the mistreatment of one animal species or one cause of animal suffering, occurring anywhere in the world, and possible measures to reduce it. Eco-Hero Award
The Eco-Hero Award is available to students between the ages of 8 and 16 who exhibit environmental initiative. You must work on a project that concerns environmental advocacy, research or protection of the natural world to be eligible for this award. Apply at www.actionfornature.org and share your experiences with ALP!

Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes
The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes is available to students 18 and younger who have organized and led a service activity that has clearly benefited other people. Your service activity must have been initiated and motivated primarily by you and cannot have been an assignment for school or work. Additionally, you must demonstrate a positive spirit and high moral purpose. To be considered, you must be nominated by an adult who has solid knowledge of your service activities and is not related to you. Learn more at www.barronprize.org/

North American Association for Environmental Education

Kohl’s Kids Who Care Award
The Kohl's Kids Who Care Award is available to students between the ages of 6 and 18 who have not yet graduated from high school and who make a difference in their community. Your volunteer efforts must have resulted in a positive community outcome and must have occurred within the last 12 months to be eligible. Do Something Awards
The Do Something Awards are available to students age 25 and under who are outstanding leaders. You must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen to be eligible for this award. You must have significantly changed the world for the better and be a young world-changer who is the pivotal "do-er" in your cause, issue or field and empower your work through community grants, knowledge, and support.
